About Us

About Stray Barrel Project:

Inspired by the wayward spirit of time and barrels, founded upon the collaborative roots from which Saint Errant Brewing was grown, Stray is a new, distinct, yet parallel entity from Saint Errant focusing on bold barrel aged beers.

Stray has held residency at Pig Minds Brewing since its inception two years ago and has benefited greatly from the synergistic relationship between Ryan of Saint Errant and Chris, head brewer at Pig Minds. Fortuitously for Stray, Chris joined Pig Minds shortly before this project began, bringing with him a fresh yet seasoned perspective from his previous years of experience at Commonweath Brewing in Virginia.

Expect nods of respect for the simplicity of grain, wood, and time, yet look forward to rules of tradition being broken with thoughtful and whimsical adjuncting.

Small volumes will be produced to facilitate impactful results. As all production, cellaring, and packaging has occured at Pig Minds Brewing these beers will be exclusively released in draft and bottles through the taproom in Machesney Park.
